BEST OPENINGS OF 2025 so far….

Bonus: Tashkent Supermarket (West Village) - The new Uzbek grocery store in Manhattan is originally from Brighton Beach and is absolutely amazing. We loved all of their traditional food and will be coming back when it’s fully up and running. The hot bar is something to write home about.

  • #10. Win Son Bakery (East Village) - One of our tried and true Brooklyn ‘bakeries’ has made its way to Manhattan finally. This location is serving some Win Son restaurant items though too and everything is simply perfect. The mochi doughnuts, the fan tuan and the ice cream program at the new location is next level!

  • #9. Crevette (West Village) - A tiny French seafood spot doing garlicky shrimp, crispy fries, and strong martinis. The vibe is cozy, the flavors are bold, and the name literally means shrimp.

  • #8. Laliko (West Village) - A new Georgian restaurant serving a ‘mother dumpling’ that comes with 6 mini baby dumplings inside. Honestly, we were fans! And the giant dumpling isn’t a gimmick, it’s a legitimate Georgian tradition which we are fans of.

  • #7. Bar Kabawa (East Village) - This place is really strong, it comes from Paul Carmichael who used to run Momofuku Ko and offers a Caribbean tasting menu ($145 for 3 courses) at the restaurant, but the bar is more casual! The menu has short rib patties and other fun Jamaican and Haitian flavors.

  • #6. Ceres (Nolita) - From former Eleven Madison Park chefs, they’re making incredible artisanal sourdough pizzas. We had a few extra crispy bites, but overall we loved it. Watch our review HERE.

  • #5. Danny & Coops (East Village) - Bradley Cooper has gone from the silver screen to slinging cheesesteaks. We have to say we are fans. The sandwich was so simply perfect and well seasoned. We really enjoyed the bite with the sweet peppers on top too. Also, since there has been some time from doors opening it seems like the wait is a lot shorter! Watch our review HERE.

  • #4. 12 Matcha (NoHo) - We’re not sure how, but within 1 day of opening day this place had a line 2 blocks long. The matcha is coming straight from a farm in Uji, Japan and we honestly thing it’s worth waiting for. They also have some matcha ice cream and other flavors. Highly recommend.

  • #3. BUBA Bureka (West Village) - NYC’s first-ever bureka shop from BenGingi and the Breads Bakery team. These flakey, cheesy pastries are next-level and they sell out daily. We’re actually obsessed though.

  • #2. Sunn’s (LES) - SO impressed with Sunn’s. Might be a top meal of 2025 already, it was that good. It’s a banchan Korean small plates menu and a natural wine list from Parcelle. Watch our review HERE.

  • #1. Ha’s Snack Bar (LES) - Incredible no notes!!! So small, but worth waiting in line to get in. The menu changes every night so it’s hard to say what to get but the snails and tuna seem to be consistent stables worth trying. Watch our review HERE.
